A...ANW
is an experienced communications tower manufacturing firm with base operations
in southern Pennsylvania, concentrating mainly on 2-way radio, wireless
broadband services, real-time kinematics (RTK), mobile telephone, amateur
radio and numerous other wireless markets worldwide that require affordable,
pre-engineered towers. ANW opened it's doors in 2001, and has since built
a strong reputation with the 'AN Series' self supporting towers - a proven
industry workhorse - with some models designed to support appurtenances
up to 140-mph.
Q...What
types of communications towers are available from ANW?
A...We
specialize in self supporting towers, meeting application height requirements
from 20' to 120'. We utilize 12 tower sections to meet a variety of loading
and height requirements. We manufacture an 'LD' Series (light duty), an
'HD' Series (heavy duty), and an 'HHD' Series (heavy-heavy duty).
Q...What
is an 'LD Series' tower?
A...The
LD towers are built using the upper (smallest) sections of the 12 available
sections, leaving off the heavier bottom sections. The LD towers offer
a lower loading capacity than the HD or HHD towers, a variable face width
at the base, and typically require a smaller concrete foundation as compared
to our larger towers. LD towers are available in heights from 20' to 90'.
Q...What
is an 'HD Series' tower?
A...The
HD towers are built using the middle sections of the 12 available sections.
The HD towers offer greater loading capacity than the LD towers, but lower
loading capacity than the HHD towers. All HD towers have a 48' face width
at the base, with the exception of the HD-120 which has a 55-3/16" face
width. HD towers typically require a larger concrete foundation over the
LD towers, and are available in heights from 20' to 120'. The HD towers
are our most popular series.
Q...What
is an 'HHD Series' tower?
A...The
HHD towers are built using the lowest (largest) sections of the 12 available
sections. The HHD towers offer an increased loading capacity over the HD
or LD towers, a larger face width at the base, and typically require a
larger concrete foundation. HHD towers all have a 55-3/16" face width at
the base, and are available in heights from 80' to 100'.
Q...Are
your towers welded or bolted together?
A...ANW
towers are an open lattice, modular design using bolted connections for
all braces and legs. This is often preferred over welded sections because
this gives the customer a choice of having the tower shipped unassembled
(knocked-down) in kit form, and also offers the ability to replace tower
components in the field with basic tools, should a structural member become
damaged. Shipping towers in knocked-down form can also produce a real savings
in shipping costs. We also are able to ship fully pre-assembled 10' sections.
Q...How
do these towers ship?
A...We
ship towers either as assembled 10' sections, or unassembled with all structural
bolts, splice plates and related hardware packaged separately. Fully assembled
sections typically ship on flatbeds, and knocked-down sections typically
ship palletized on an LTL carrier. We also have the ability to containerize &
stack knocked-down shipments for export. Since all ANW towers use bolted
construction, we can use this knocked-down shipping option as an advantage
to save customers considerable freight dollars, with less chance of damage.
For towers shipped knocked-down, complete assembly of an entire tower can
be done in an afternoon. We also welcome customer pick-ups by appointment.
Q...What
makes the ANW towers better than other towers?
A...Lots
of reasons! For a full list of advantages, have a read through our
advantage
page. The key advantages are the fact that our towers are made from 50
KSI steel, that we offer a host of standard and custom accessories, that
we offer up to 140-mph wind exposures for many of our towers, and that
our available windloading numbers are above average in this class of tower.
We also offer exceptional customer support....and best of all, we are an
honest American company!
Q...What
can ANW do to help me obtain a permit for my tower?
A...In
some cases, a Local Building Authority (LBA) will grant a permit with nothing
more than the drawings we have available for download on our website in
PDF format. We also have PE's who hold licensure in 50 States and certain
Canadian Provinces who can wet stamp our tower and foundation drawings
on a custom basis for a nominal fee. Contact us for more details.
Q...Are
there any accessories available for ANW towers?
A...Absolutely
- a full line of accessories is available for all towers we manufacture.
See our 'Prices' page for our accessory list with descriptions, photos
and current prices.
